POKER STARS – YOU’RE TAKING A GAMBLE WITH YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT

As a graduation gift to myself I decided to do some online gambling with real money. I started with Full Tilt and then went to Poker Stars. I had been with both sites since June 2009. I never had a problem with Full Tilt and didn’t have a problem with Poker Stars until last month.

Both sites use off shore companies to handle the transactions. With Full Tilt I did the transaction one way but with Poker Stars I did it via e-check because that’s the only way they allow you to cash out. Of the few transactions I’ve done with them, everything was fine. Last month on 7/10 I deposited $25.00. It takes PS up to 10 days to withdraw the money from the checking account. The transaction took place around the 19th of July. I saw it on my statement, but now I can’t find it.

On 8/4/2009 I get charged a NSF because of $25.00 trying to be withdrawn from my account. On 8/11/2009 they tried again to take the money. Another NSF charged to me. I contact Poker Stars to get a copy of all my transactions and they oblige. But I have to digress for a bit.

When I contact PS about anything I would get a response the same day. When I contacted them about the transaction problem I was having it would take them a day or two to get back to me and it usually was a run around answer. One email had them requesting my bank statement. I wrote them back and stated I did not feel comfortable sending them anything regarding my bank statement.

I decided to call the company that actually does the transactions. This company goes by two names Green2yourgreen and GI Holdings. They claimed they didn’t have a records of a transaction. The lady gave me an email address to write someone in their billing department. I wrote them about three days ago and no one has responded. Figures.

I have contacted Poker Stars and told them to remove my e-check information IMMEDIATELY. I didn’t hear from them by the next day. I wrote them again two days later and requested again that they remove my e-check information. They said they removed it. But today, I learned that they tried to take $25.00 from my account again. Another $35.00 NSF I have to pay. I have contacted PS and they claimed they have not received notice of a withdraw coming back to them but that doesn’t mean it has cleared my bank yet. WHAT? I know it cleared my bank around 19th July.

I did have to take drastic measures to make sure Poker Stars does not try to take the $25.00 from my account. And I will never EVER EVER do business with them again.

I looked at a poker forum I belong to and saw other users having the same issue with them, meaning, Poker Stars trying to take money from player’s checking account over and over again after the transaction has cleared but then all of the sudden disappears.

My warning here is, never do an e-check transaction with anyone and highly recommend you take great heed to doing business with Poker Stars. Full Tilt has not been a problem for me at all. Knock on wood!
