The last episode of Denise’s show just focused on her going on a talk show round to promote her show but all anyone wants to ask her is about her kids being in her reality show. They showed Denise on The View (which was one of my first blogs and because of how Whoopi was towards Denise is when I decided to watch and blog about Denise’s show), CNN, the Today show, some local shows and they all did the same thing. Poor Denise is there to talk about her show and how she hopes it shows the real her. I was really getting annoyed at the interviewers and I was feeling really bad for Denise because I went back to her day on The View.

Denise did get solace from her father when she called him one particular night after a hard day of interviewing. Her publicist told her to take the high road by ignoring the stupid questions and focus on her mission. In her final interview, which was a satellite interview, she did just that. Callers were asking their questions about her kids and all and Denise held her ground and focused on her show. You go girl!

The show basically ended with her going back home and being glad to be home and her speaking about what she had gone through during the weeks and at the end she basically said she realized things aren’t complicated after all. That’s what I’ve been trying to tell her through the TV but she just wasn’t listening. Save for the time she had to take the tabloid lady to Smackdown Hotel on the corner of Know Your Role Boulevard and Back of My Hand Avenue, she kept a level head when she needed to and she let loose when she had to, as well.  I think if Denise takes a few more people, I won’t mention names, to Smackdown Hotel people will back off from her.

I feel I have come to know Denise Richards personally. No, not that personally where I could call her up and say, “what’s crack-a-lacking?” I did not have an opinion of her before the show but I do have one of her since the show has ended and that she’s a real person with real problems. Hmmm, I wish I had those problems instead of wondering how much money will be left out of my check after the bills are paid. But all in all it was a great show and one I looked forward to watching every week. I am hoping she comes back with season two, but if she doesn’t, that’s ok. I feel her goal was accomplished just in this season. But as with anything you do, people are going to have their opinions of her and those that mocked her may have a change of heart. But then again, they may not and really lay things on thick. Whatever the case may be, Denise can’t please the world. There will be those who will still look down upon her and then there will be those who have gained a whole new respect for Denise the person, and I am the latter.

I will miss your show Denise. Thank you for such a great season and letting the world see you.

This is a pre-post to my final post of Denise Richard’s show, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, which ended tonight, 28 July 2008.  The reason I am writing this is for two reasons.  1.  I didn’t want my final blog to be cluttered with my final recap/commentary of the show, and 2. I am thinking about a show I really enjoyed and am going to miss.  I hope she comes back for season two.

As mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I learned of Denise Richards from the movie Wild Things, but really paid attention to her in Empire.  But I am not the type of person that will watch a movie just because she’s in it.  I would have to be drawn to the movie itself.  For Denise Richards, it was the two movies I mentioned.

Then she was on The View a few months ago in which she was talking about and promoting her reality show.  Knowing she was going to be on The View was enough for me for I wanted to see her be her self…well at least what I would consider her being herself without knowing what that would really be.  I hope that made sense.  Anyhoo.  While sitting on the couch with Elizabeth, Sherri, Barbara, Joy and Whoopi, Denise began getting grilled by Whoopi about how she (Denise) talks about having her kids in the spotlight due to her divorce from Charlie Sheen but yet having them on her show.  I do not want to rehash what took place on that couch because I was irritated with Whoopi at how she was attacking, at least that’s how I viewed it, Denise Richards.  If you look through my earlier posts, you will find the blog about that incident as well as a clip of the conversation between Whoopi and Denise.

I have to admit that I was a bit doubtful of her show and felt it might be another trashy reality TV show like The Two Coreys, but boy was I proved wrong the very first episode.  Again, see my early posts.  I found the show very entertaining without having to have my intelligence questioned or destroyed (The Two Coreys). Yes, there was an episode that was rather boring, but that’s just how TV goes.  Even my most favorite shows didn’t always have exciting episodes, but I pressed on by continuing to watch and waited for the next one.

My favorite episodes were her confronting the tabloid person and the last one of her going on the talk show circuit to promote her reality show.  I enjoyed these two by the mere fact that it showed her vulnerability and the hurt she feels by the smack that is talked about her or the rude questions that are directed at her.  Because of her show, I have gained a whole new respect for Denise.

The main focus of the talk show hosts was Denise having her kids in her show after all the public displays she went through with her divorce from Charlie and she said on The View, her kids are on the show very minimal, and they were. Unlike Feldman (Corey) who kept his kid Zen totally out of his show, Denise had her kids on her show and it was with her interacting with them. Their time on the small screen was minimal as she mentioned time and again. You would see them for about five minutes, if that. Not that Denise has anything to prove to anyone, but she did show she’s a good mom and a good person. She hung with her friends. She surfed the internet to see what was being said about her. She took care of her many animals. By the way her dog Luke is my favorite. She tried to lose weight and wasn’t successful. She confronted the paparazzi on the beaches of Hawaii. She made her father get a man-groom. She mourned her mother’s death and faced her own grief head on. She went go-cart racing and dune bugging (again, I think I made up a word with bugging). She cussed like a stable boy at times and made no apologizes. She searched for a new assistant when her two assistants couldn’t get a long and one of them was lying and ended up quitting. She had looks on her face that can’t be described, but where funny as all get up. All in all she was being Denise Richards the person, NOT Denise Richards the “celebrity”.

Thank you for a REAL reality show.

Keesha won POV (Power of Veto) and from what I can tell she kept the Noms the same (Jessie / Angie).  What I can also tell is that Libra is behind what Keesha is doing.  But Angie has been pleading her case to Keesha like nobody’s business and its rather sad.  She, Angie, went through the whole crying game, so much so, she went to the bathroom to get a tissue and came back to continue her conversation, more like pleading, with Keesha.

I don’t know, but Angie may be shown the front door on Wednesday.

On Denise’s inner left ankle she Charlie tattooed and since her marriage has ended, she wants to get it altered, which is actually the best thing to do if you have a tat you don’t want anymore. Its less painful than having it removed by way of laser. So, she decides to go to Kat Von D who owns LA Ink. Kat also had a show on for a minute of the same name. Of course the paparazzi has followed her there.

It looks like she’s getting the tat turned into a butterfly. Kat told her it won’t hurt, but it does end up hurting because Kat is tatting on the bone of her ankle and for any of you who have tats that are on the bone, you know the bone hurts the most. Kat has revealed the tat and its not a butterfly after all, but a fairy. Both Denise and the friend that accompanies her say, “Good Bye Charlie!” I could actually say the same.

Denise is going to Hawaii with her sister and their girlfriends but is leaving her kids behind. Denise said since she didn’t lose the 10 bounds she wanted to lose all her bikini bottoms are skimpy and she’s gone up two sizes in her jeans. I’ve gone up two jean sizes as well. Wait..did I just say that? Am I comparing myself to Denise Richards? Or am I just copying her? Well I’m not copying her because I have gone up two jean sizes…ok probably more like three, but who’s counting? Right? Shall we continue? We shall.

She’s very excited about her trip. Well, who the hell wouldn’t be going to Hawaii? But she has a fear of flying because she’s had a few really bad flights. She said before 9/11 she would go into the cockpit and she would feel fine but since 9/11 she can’t go in the cockpit. She said a few years ago she had a panic attack on the plane. Now, if anyone has had a panic attack you know its no fun and I am speaking from experience. Hold up folks…this time I am being honest. I used to have panic attacks and some would last two hours, but I haven’t had one in a long time. Back to Denise, since it is Denise’s show. When the plane landed they had to take her the ER because she blew up in hives from head to toe. She told them (doctor’s I guess) that she ate something bad and had an allergic reaction because she was too embarrassed to tell them she is allergic to planes. Now how the hell can you be allergic to planes? Now, she’s making things up. Her friend Kim is going to help her get over her fear of flying.

There’s a company called iFlying which is has an indoor sky diving and wind tunnel. Denise tells her assistant and friend its perfect, yet when she’s speaking to the camera she feels it’s a crock of sh** but she’ll try it. When she arrives at iFly (wow, I am really plugging their name aren’t I? I hope they plug my name some day) she has to sign a waiver. Then this fool is telling her about his hand signals and she asks him if this will cure her fear of flying, he says Yes but not in a convincing tone. I think she’s more nervous now than when she arrived. She finally goes into the wind tunnel to begin her indoor skydiving. She not happy and to the camera she says, “What part of fear of flying did he not understand?” She’s sooooooo sarcastic. My kind of woman. She goes on to say, “He taught us a lot of hand signals, but the one thing he forgot to tell us is how to get the f*ck out of there.”

Well she ends up getting on the plane and sits next to her friend Kim and those two end up arguing (not in a serious way) about something and they laugh and talk the entire five hours it takes to get to Hawaii. Well it was five hours for me when I went.

When she arrives in Hawaii there’s a fool there with a camera taking pictures of her. The paparazzi has followed her to Hawaii. What is wrong with these people???? I know they get paid for the pictures they take, but what about ethics, if that’s the word to use. This fool knows she’s on vacation and he will not leave her alone. She’s at a coffee shop by the airport and the stupid-head (paparazzi, not Denise) asked her where she was staying. Are you serious? Did you really just ask Denise where she was staying? Denise, in turn, asks him where is he staying and of course he would not answer. She and her friends leave (Kim, Michelle (D’s sister) and Trish) to go find their hotel.

Denise and her friends are walking on the beach and there’s the guy again. Denise walks up to him and asks what magazine does he write for. He says he’s independent. She asks him again the name of the magazine and he said he can’t tell her. She says when the pictures are published she will know which magazine and walks off. He next thing is learning to surf and again, that f*ck wad is there taking pictures of her. He’s the only one, mind you, doing this. She ignores him the best she can. She is not going to let him ruin her vacation. The girls decide to go lay on the beach to sunbath and for some reason, to take their tops off. Denise was a bit apprehensive because of that paparazzi guy. They all looked around carefully and what they thought was no sign of him, they took their tops off and rolled onto their stomach but sure enough here comes the needled*ck out of the bushes and begins snapping pictures. Well, now Denise has had enough and confronts the guy. She grabs her towel and tells him she wants to see what in his camera and he refuses. Her friend Kim goes to get her because she can see Denise is about to go off on this guy, which she does. Kim is finally able to get Denise back over with the girls and they leave the beach.

I believe Denise was in Hawaii for a few days. When she gets home her first mission is to see what pictures ended up on the internet and hopes her father hasn’t seen them yet. Her father, Irv (hey, I remembered his name) welcomes the girls home and says he just baked some cookies and offers the girls some, the agree. While he’s in the kitchen taking them out of the oven, Denise and her friends get on the computer and do find the pictures taken of her on the picture. She doesn’t seem that upset about them because they weren’t the one of her on the beach without a top.

And as usual, alls well that ends well.

NEXT WEEK: Denise is flying to NY to promote her show (the one I am watching) and all they (the interviewers) want to talk about is the supposed stuff she has done. It doesn’t seem any of them want to discuss her show. A few of the previews shows Denise very upset and crying on the phone to her father about what’s going on.
